"Il mio viaggio in Italia" has been rattling around in my brain for many, many years, ever since I started, on weekends or during vacation periods, to do what I like most: travel around Italy to visit all those places (famous or mostly unknown) that I note down very diligently during the year.
The cue can come from anywhere: a description read in a novel, an advertisement in a magazine, a newspaper blurb. And, if it strikes my imagination, I jot it down and then, at the first opportunity I set off.
Sometimes, expectations have been disappointed; other times, reality has exceeded them, or given me something new and unexpected. Always, however, it was worth packing the trolley and leaving.
"Il mio viaggio in Italia" is the photographic summary of this wandering of mine, or rather, of this wandering of ours, because Italy is even more beautiful when you tour it with the people you love.
